How Rock Fall Supports Sustainable Safety Footwear Under EUDR
At Rock Fall, ethical safety footwear is not just a principle but a practice. Therefore, we are committed to aligning our sourcing strategies with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) to ensure that our products meet the highest sustainability standards. This regulation mandates deforestation-free sourcing of raw materials such as leather and natural rubber from 31 December 2020 onward.
Tracing Leather for Sustainable Manufacturing
Although finished safety footwear is currently exempt from EUDR enforcement, Rock Fall is already tracing leather used in its products back to birth farms. Through strong relationships with accredited tanneries, we can effectively monitor sourcing integrity and support our sustainability goals across the footwear range.
Natural Rubber and Regulatory Compliance
Natural rubber, which is commonly used in our footbeds, is sourced from Thailand. In addition, we are proactively clarifying regulatory obligations with the EU Commission and championing improved rubber traceability. These measures reinforce our efforts to make every component responsibly sourced.
Transparent Supply Chains for Compliance
Furthermore, Rock Fall remains committed to full EUDR compliance through supplier collaboration, improved material transparency, and responsive supply chain management. As a result, these actions strengthen our reputation as a trusted provider of sustainable and ethical industrial footwear for responsible businesses across Europe and beyond.
