Derbyshire based Safety Footwear manufacturer, Rock Fall are continuing to move forward with even more commercial success, award nominations and wins and maximising their opportunity to give back to the local community.

Having just defended the best innovation in footwear at the prestigious and internationally recognised Professional Clothing Awards for their world first Electrical Hazard range, the second generation family business has received notification that they have been selected as a finalist in 3 categories at the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards. These include:

  1. Outstanding Growth, the business has grown 387% in the past 5 years to in excess of £7.5M or around 600,000 pairs per year.
  2. Business Improvement Through Technology, recognition for the 2017 deployment of Orderwise, an all in one enterprise business management system.
  3. Excellence in International Trade, which highlights to businesses commitment to providing our world leading health and safety standards around the globe.

The Rock Fall senior management team are now excited for the Awards Ceremony which takes place at Pride Park in Derby in September, with the possibility of going forward to compete for national recognition at the BCC awards.

Rock Fall are proud of their Derbyshire heritage. This news really sets the business up for the upcoming Cricket Derbyshire Foundation T20:20:20 Walkathon, at which Rock Fall have sponsored the medals and trophies. The T20:20:20 Walkathon will see fundraisers walk 20 miles from Trent Bridge to The 3aaa County Ground in time for the big Vitality Blast derby between Derbyshire Falcons and Notts Outlaws (7pm start, approx. 9.45pm finish).

The event is set to be bigger than last year and raises money for the CDF, which will support the delivery of a range of community projects to young people across the county, using the power of sport.

Collecting his thoughts on the recent good news.

We’ve managed to build some amazing momentum in recent years by sticking to our niche and continuing to solve footwear problems for specific industries. The project to develop our Electrical Hazard range with Western Power Distribution was somewhat of a landmark for us. To be so comprehensively recognised is really pleasing. The risk is worthwhile when we see the business go from strength to strength. We have a very strong view on CSR, it’s our second year sponsoring the T20:20:20 Walkathon and it’s something we are delighted to see grow year on year. Matthew Noon Director
