Who is J. Murphy & Sons Limited?

Established in 1951 by John Murphy, J. Murphy & Sons Limited has grown into a leading global, multi-disciplined engineering and construction company with turnover of £780 million. The company provides a wide range of construction services to infrastructure sectors including rail, water, power and natural resources.

Murphy has a number of specialist capabilities such as pipelines, marine, tunnelling and piling, and invests heavily in its substantial holding of plant, equipment and facilities.

What did we do?

At Murphy safety is paramount. We were invited to participate in wearer trials at the time of Murphy’s PPE review. We worked closely with the SHESQ leadership team working in the water sector and with the highways team to ensure three key drivers were met.

100% Non-Metallic, developed with specialist durability materials.

Denver is a fully waterproof midcut ankle style that is highly robust with a padded ankle for serious ankle support.

Murphy use the Chatsworth in teams that work by the trackside with chainsaws on land clearing and devegetation projects.

VX950A | Onyx

100% Non-Metallic and fully waterproof with an Activ-Tex® membrane.

Onyx is manufactured on a ladies sole and slender ladies last.

It’s made for women in infrastructure and is being specified by an increasing number of major contractors.
